Your Council on Aging team is a diversified group of seven individuals, appointed by the Selectmen, for varied terms. Our primary responsibility is the welfare of the adults of our town with the emphasis on the aged population. We also strive to remain cognizant of potential future impact issues on our town as we all continue to age.
Two of our most important current endeavors are first, planning for the impact of current "baby boomer" population, who are approaching senior citizen status. Secondly, we are exploring avenues to construct a new town-owned Senior Center, utilizing funding external to the town, and hopefully utilizing town owned land.
As a team, we strive to remain up to date concerning current and possible future legislation which may impact upon us all. We welcome your questions, ideas, and participation concerning our endeavors, and look forward to meeting with you. The Council on Aging meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior Center.
